What We Do
At First Aid Heroes, we believe first aid is just as essential as learning how to swim.
We teach real, age-appropriate first aid skills to children aged 5 to 12, giving them the confidence to recognise an emergency, take action, and help others — whether they’re at home, at school, or hanging out with friends.
Our hands-on workshops are designed in consultation with nurses and teachers and delivered at schools, gyms, OOSH services, sports clubs and private groups. No equipment needed. We bring everything — the kids just show up and learn.
Schools Programs
A progressively structured, three-level course delivered onsite during school hours.
Each level builds on the one before and is matched to two year groups — giving students time to revisit and strengthen their first aid skills from Years 1 to 6.
Community Programs
Two age-appropriate workshops designed for kids in gyms, OOSH services, private groups, sports clubs, and holiday programs.
These fun, hands-on sessions teach children how to recognise emergencies, call 000, provide basic care, and stay calm under pressure — with content tailored to their age and maturity.
- Ready Set Help (Ages 6–9): Calling 000, recognising emergencies, staying calm, taking simple actions
- Respond & React (Ages 10–12): DRS AB plan, using EpiPens and puffers, controlling bleeding, helping others in stressful situations
Kids can do either session on its own — or complete both to build stronger skills over time.
About Us
Mission Statement
At First Aid Heroes we believe first aid is a life skill that is as important as knowing how to swim. Our goal is to teach a structured, simplified first aid program to primary aged children to prepare them to deal with both minor and major incidents and accidents at home and in the playground.
Inception
First Aid Heroes was founded in 2024 with a goal of addressing the lack of basic first aid training for children.
We can’t expect schools to do everything as they are already overwhelmed with extra and intra curricular activities. However, first aid is a skill that is of real, practical benefit and is a must for children to learn. Like anything, the younger we learn something, the more competent at it we become. A child who knows first aid can deal with the minor mishaps of the park and playground but may also be able to save a life.
A growing body of evidence has come to suggest that excessive screen time is negatively impacting children’s physical, mental and social development. So as parents, if we want our children to spend more time outdoors engaging robust physical activities, we must equip them with the skills they need to deal with the occasional consequences. This is where First Aid training can make both parents and children more confident in their ability to handle whatever comes their way at home, in the playground or at the park.
Added to that, cost of living pressures mean grandparents are looking after children more and more frequently so we had to ask ourselves the question: would my kids know what to do if one of their friends hurt themselves when I wasn’t there or if one of their grandparents had a medical emergency while looking after them?
If our children have a basic understanding of First Aid, the answer to that question can be yes!
